Thanks for visiting my newly updated blog and website!  I want to thank Boondock Marketing for their help in designing it!  They are great and if you need any website work-they are the ones to call!  Plus, they have 3 dogs so that helps!

I am the photographer for Young-Williams Animal Center in Knoxville, TN.  They are the main animal shelter in town.  They take in all strays, lost, unwanted and neglected pets.  And I get to take their photos!  I love my job and the volunteers that I have that help me get the job done!  I wouldn’t change it for anything!  3 days a week I go in and photograph all the adoptable pets that haven’t had their photo taken!  This usually runs between 30-50 pets a day!  Whew!

My passion lies in capturing the pet’s unique personality in photographs so that they will get adopted quickly!  This is quite a challenge.  These pets have been through who-knows-what (some worse than others) and I have about 5-10 minutes to spend with each animal.  In an ideal world, I would spend an hour with each pet, giving them the individual attention that they need and really getting to know each pet’s personality.  But, with so many animals coming through the shelter, I just can’t.  So in those 5-10 minutes it is up to my volunteers to get the pet relaxed and comfortable and for me to press the shutter at the right time!

The addition of a professional photographer has been great for the image of Young Williams Animal Center and for helping the animals get adopted much quicker.  I hope that with this blog I will be able to help even more pets get adopted out even faster!  More pets adopted=Less euthanasia!  (Spay and Neuter helps as well, but that’s for another post!)
